Tim Couch: A Passion for the Game
Published in Paperback by Sports Publishing, Inc. (10 December, 1999)
Authors: John McGill and Dave Baker
Average review score:

A pleasant surprise - no self hype here!
A very good read. I'm not quite down with it, but a great book. There's no self-hype here by Couch. The authors do a great job taking a story of "small town boy makes good" into a story all of us can relate to in one way or another. I've been a Tim Couch fan ever since he came to Cleveland, and you'll enjoy reading about how he gets there. A definite must-read.

A Time to Love (Last Summer, First Love, Book 1)
Published in Paperback by Scholastic (July, 1994)
Authors: Jennifer Baker and Carin Greenberg Baker
Average review score:

Powerfully Intriging!
No matter how many times I read this book I still feel all the emotions that I felt the first time I read it. I am so looking forward to reading the sequel, if I could only find it since it has gone out of print. Anyone who comes across this story should consider themselves lucky. Baker should think of writing more books like this one and maybe putting this book back in print.

The Toddlers Potty Book

Average review score:

A Winner!
Our 28 month old loves this book! We initially borrowed a copy from her local ECFE class, and we're making tremendous potty progress now. The only problem was we had to give the book back and she was so upset when it was gone I had to get online right away and order a copy.

Tolstoy's Bicycle
Published in Paperback by Bookthrift Co (June, 1982)

Average review score:

Fantastic resource for going on holiday!!
Tolstoy's Bicycle is not the most encouraging, or graphical, of titles, but what a book it is!! This large tome is well worth the time and focus it requires to read it but you will not be able to put it down once you begin. The main objective is to emphasise the activities of life and general achievements and to link them with age, from birth to 100 years old to prove that we are all capable of great things, regardless of age. The facts and figures make amazing reading and, if nothing else, it will inspire you onward to greater deeds and improve that old self-esteem. A real treasure trove of information, Tolstoy's bicylcle is like no other and will delight, excite, surprise, depress, inform, engage your mind and keep you entertained for some wonderful moments time! A must on that long journey or holiday break!

Tom Jones: The Authoritative Text Contemporary Reactions Criticism (A Norton Critical Edition)
Published in Paperback by W.W. Norton & Company (January, 1995)
Authors: Henry Fielding and Sheridan Baker
Average review score:

Best Novel ever written?
How do you write a review on what may be the best novel ever written. Charming and wonderfuly written and still hold up almost 300 years later. Funny, thought provoking as Fielding shines light on morale hypocrisy. I did not want this book to end, can there be a better commentary on a book then that?

Tony and the Cows: A True Story from the Range Wars
Published in Hardcover by Confluence Pr (July, 2000)
Author: Will Baker
Average review score:

Henry David Thoreau---Read this Book!
This book explores what happens if you take envrionmental zeal to the extreme, while also laying out the reasons why caring for the earth is a critical concern. The author is looking for a middle way between thoughtless corporate resource extraction and armed assaults by protectors of nature. His story is about a local Sierra Club president and loner, who, based on the evidence available, decides to shoot 32 cows grazing on public land in New Mexico in an effort to rid the landscape of exotic species. Mr. Baker explores the literary and societal roots of environmental activism and the development of the view of "nature" prevalent in our society. There are so many actions being taken today that reflect the conflict between our consumer culture and the preservation of the natural world. Deciding how resources are to be used is essential to our survivial and this book looks very closely and very critically at the issue. It is a mind opener, and could certainly offend true believers on both sides. A must read for our times.

Helpful for Laymen and Theologians Alike.
Dr. Elwell has given us an excellent tool for studying the Scriptures in the traditon of "Nave's Topical Bible", yet goes beyond Nave's with helpful categories and an organization that leads the student through all the major themes of the Bible and the verses related to those themes thus allowing the student to leave no stone unturned in his or her study of any particular topic. No Theological library or student should be without this.

The Truth About Small Towns: Poems
Published in Paperback by Univ of Arkansas Pr (July, 1998)
Author: David Baker
Average review score:

a super collection from a talented poet
Wow -- these poems knocked me out! I heard Baker read his poems last year and had to buy the book, and I'm thrilled with it. This is his fifth book of poems. He keeps getting better and better. Nobody can write a love poem like he does. His poems are tough and beautiful, gorgeously crafted and passionate.

Tulipa: A Photographer's Botanical
Published in Hardcover by Artisan (November, 1999)
Authors: Christopher Baker, Willem Lemmers, Emma Sweeney, and Michael Pollan
Average review score:

Spell-binding and amazing
In all of my years, I have never seen quite a unique and exquisite celebration of the maginificence of these natural wonders. Christopher Baker's eye portray's the simple elegance of these flowers with a passion that is fascinating. One can hardly appreciate the vast array of the tulips' varieties, surely never seen before. I congratulate Christopher on this masterful and clearly personal gift of his life's passion. The photography is gracefully complemented by reverant prose that both leaves much to the imagination, but skillfully engrosses the reader in these magical creations. I can only say this, while a rose may always be a rose, every tulip, since this wonderful publication, is truly it's own incarnation. Thank you, Mr. Baker.

This book has everything!
"The Turquoise Tattoo" has everything--a great plot, interesting characters, and a fast pace. Devon MacDonald is a believable, likable private detective. Ms. Jacobs is one of those rare writers who can make her readers feel as though they are actually on the case with her detective.

Be sure to read the other fine novels in the Devon MacDonald series, as well as Ms. Jacobs' other suspense novels.
